Marta Casals and Amèlia Trueta present the book “DEAR DOCTOR/DEAR MAESTRO” On the coming 19th June, at 7p.m., the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Pau Casals Museum will host the presentation of the book "Estimat doctor/Admirat mestre" (Dear Doctor/Dear Maestro”), published by Acontravent. Taking part in the ceremony will be Marta Casals, the widow of Maestro Casals; Amèlia Trueta, the daughter of Dr. Tureta; Quim Torra, the curator of the book, and Benet Jané, the mayor

The book, presented last April, is a compilation of 79 letters which have been preserved from the correspondence between Pau Casals and Josep Trueta. This is an almost complete collection of letters, allowing one to follow the course of events such as the end of the war, Casals’ refusal to travel to England, the appointment of Dr. Trueba as professor at Oxford, the vicissitudes of the Nobel Prize campaigns or the Maestro’s state of health, always with Catalonia as a backdrop.
